Born in Ll√≠ria ‚ÄďValencia- in 1968.
The First Price and Audience Award on the 46th edition of the prestigious International Conducting Competition of Besan√ßon in 1999 were the starting point of the professional career of √Ālvaro Albiach. After that, came his debut with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse in the "Halle aux Grains". Ever since, he has developed an intense career with invitations from important orchestras, such as the Wiener Kammerorchester, NDR Hannover Radio Philharmonie, W√ľrtembergische Philharmonie, Staatskapelle Halle, Trondheim Symphony, Orchestre d'Auvergne, Flemish Radio Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lyon; and Spanish main orchestras such as Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Orquesta de Radio Televisi√≥n Espa√Īola, Orquesta Sinf√≥nica de Madrid, Orquesta de Granada among others.
In September 2.012 he was appointed as Artostoc Dorector and Principal Conductor of the Orquesta de Extremadura, which he had conducted for the first time in June 2.012. In this position he is developing an intense musical activity and also encouraging the exposure of the orchestra. All this work has been rewarded so far with the performances of Salome by RIchard Strauss in the M√©rida International Classic Theater Festival. Critics highlighted the performance by the orchestra and "√Ālvaro Albiach's vibrant and precise conducting" as well as his approach to the composition "honest and rigorous" (Juan √Āngel Vela del Campo, El Pa√≠s, July 9th 2.014)
√Ālvaro Albiach combines his concert activity with an important presence in the opera field, working in theaters and festivals such as Teatro Real in Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Comunale di Treviso, Schleswig Holstein Festival, Granada Festival, Perelada Festival, El Escorial Summer Festival, Teatro Campoamor de Oviedo, Teatro Villamarta de Jerez, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid among others
